Many reading this blog know I had a good week trading so I rewarded myself by
slipping away and getting some 1-2-1 training in....Photography. Its a hobby and
as a trader you need to take a break this is how I sometimes take that break.
I wanted to shoot something called RAW. I've read the books I've tried it in
my software and got nowhere. Its all very well telling me how wonderful it is
and I should be using it but what I needed was someone to show me. Someone who
knows what they are talking about and who does it.
Isn't this what happens in trading. All these courses telling you how wonderful
things are but you need someone to show you? Everyone is different and at different
levels of understanding. Courses just preach to the group and tell you, where
everyone is an individual and to make it work you really need someone to show
you.
What I needed was someone to say "Alan you do this that and the other" and for
me to say "Yes but I've done that and I still cant get it to work."
So my photographic trainer showed me step by step until I came to one bit in
the software and I said "This just doesn't work for me." So he said "Well do this,
then that and now you try." So I did it his way and it worked.
When I came back home I set everything up downloaded my Raw files did everything
he showed me and....it worked. Bingo! All I needed was some 1-2-1 help. All that
time I'd been going around and around getting no where and all I needed was someone
to show me. Now I'm out today trying the other things he showed me. I wont be
wasting my time in future I'll be back paying that chap again if I need some more
photographic help.
I worked with someone on trading recently, They had done the trading courses
but hadn't got anywhere. So I sat down with them and step by step sorted things
out at their speed until they were doing all the right things on the live markets.
"This is wonderful." they said why couldn't the trading courses I'd paid for got
me to this level?
Because we need to be shown at our own speed in our own time in a live situation.
